- You’re not alone. There is hope. Julie believes that healing takes both compassion and perseverance. She comes alongside clients to support in session and out of session through impactful activities designed to help apply work from session at home. She sees counseling as a steady, supportive process that helps people face life’s challenges. Her philosophy, “Healthy Hope,” reflects a balanced approach that recognizes the connection between our physical, emotional, and mental health. Julie takes a pragmatic, solutions focused, holistic view of the whole person—how thoughts, emotions, and the body are connected—and helps clients work through trauma using creative, body-aware, and practical strategies that are grounded in real life and support lasting change. Her style is warm, and pragmatic, focusing on meaningful progress through empathy, realistic support, and appropriately challenging to discover and work through the roots and underlying causes. She is very perceptive and attentive to understand and help identify patterns and underlying issues to address. She incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, attachment theory and meets the client where they are.
- Julie has a heart for helping others—especially families and children—and strives to come alongside them with care, understanding, and guidance. She brings more than 15 years of experience in education, caregiving, and mentoring to her counseling work, along with Missouri certifications in elementary, middle, and high school English Language Arts, special education, and physical education.
